Green Valley in August ! The "Dog Days of Summer" have settled into the valley bringing warm sunny days and cool starry nights. The deer are either going into the creek or coming out it seems. Yesterday I watched a Doe & fawn stroll up stream and around the bend, nibbling on leaves as they went. Nice way to eat lunch on a hot Summer day ! Fishing has been good this summer and a guest in Lory Cottage has taken a 22 in. Bass to have mounted. Congratulations ! The nights are filled with one of my favorite sounds, Katydids ! When I was a boy, I spent many Summer nights in a sleeping bag by a campfire near the lake at Green Valley. The Katydids would sing me to sleep and the call of the Crows would wake me in the morning. Wow, that's been 40 couple years ago ! Nice to know the campfires are still burning and the Katydids are still singing folks to sleep.....Have a happy dream.............
