It pays to look up

Our guests know the simple pleasure of a slower pace of life at Green Valley.

Cruising slowly back to your Cottage after a day of fishing is the leisurely way to chance upon wildlife along the way.

Make the occasional stop along your drive to enjoy the wildflowers beside the lane, check the woods for a deer
or squirrels are they scamper from limb to limb,
or maybe spot a heron fishing the creek.

And look up as you pause on the way to your Cottage, you may notice that there's an owl keeping an eye on you as your journey along ...

Our guests brought this visitor to our attention the other day, giving us the opportunity to get his photo.

Mr. Owl is a welcome guest at Green Valley.

Time to Learn Something New

I love wallpaper, and being the owner of an old house
it was in every room,
And then it "went out of style",
So I removed Lots of wallpaper.
Believe me, removing wallpaper from the walls takes
a lot longer than putting it On the walls.

Now, it's 2024 and wallpaper seems to be "back in style" .
So, I bravely decided to tackle the latest in wallpaper applications...
peel and stick...a totally new wallpapering experience for me.

I decided to start with a small project
and what better place to start small
than one kitchen wall at little Sophronia Cottage?

I love it. So bright and cheerful. It looks perfect in Sophronia's kitchen.
And my guests really love the change too.

"Deep summer is when laziness finds respectability"

In preparation for our guests' "respectably lazy" days by the lake, we've been bustling about at the Cottages this week.
Purchasing some new furnishing and decor.
I'm loving the process and I think my guests will be very happy with the new changes.

Lots of chairs have arrived on my porch this week.
Two for Francena Cottage--I love them.

And I'm excited about taking these two chairs to Lory Cottage soon.

There's always something happening at Green Valley Cottages.

Oh What Fun We Had
"Got to share this beautiful place with our children and grandchildren.
It was everything we wanted, plus a little extra....power went out to add to the charm of candlelight, flashlights for children, pizza on the grill and dinosaur nuggets at the campfire, and some hot tea to boot.

Only time will tell.
The weather man is predicting some snow for this weekend.
I can't think of a better place to be "snowed in".
Relaxing in a hot tub while the flurries fall--now doesn't that sound like fun?

For me, it really is the Most wonderful time of the year.
And I've been enjoying some busy days this month decorating the
4 Cottages for my holiday travelers.

Each Cottage gets a little touch of decor to add a festive feel of Christmas at Green Valley Cottages

Christmas music played and I was loving life as I arranged greenery, snowmen and lights.

My guests always appreciate the seasonal touches I add to each Cottage.

All is Merry and Bright At Green Valley.

What motives and drive us each day as we care for Green Valley and its 4 Cottages
is the happiness and pleasure it brings to not only us, but to the many wonderful guests who have enjoyed time at our very, special these past 27 years.

Greg's online review of his recent stay was a great beginning to my day.

"We have visited G.V. for over 10 years and we never are disappointed in accomplishing our goals of rest, relaxation, rejuvenation and joy.
There is plenty to do there, yet one of our favorites is to just walk the hiking trails and connects with the peace and tranquility of the serene setting.
We enjoy nighttime campfires, outdoor grilling, the hot tub--especially in the winter, watching birds and wildlife, a little fishing, and just "chillin".
Our visits have included stay at 3 of the 4 Cottages and each one is cozy and inviting.
We can't say enough about how wonderful the hosts are.
No other vacation spot keeps us coming back as much as Green Valley."

That's our goal--we work hard so that our guests have the best Green Valley experience
and will return again and again.
