Although our Christmas travelers didn't have snow during their time at Excelsior Cottage--they still had a wonderful time of celebration with their family.
"We absolutely love it here. All cabins have been outstanding, but we are so happy we decided to come to this one for Christmas. Since Excelsior is bigger, my parents were able to come along as well. We enjoyed a big Christmas meal and celebrating Christmas with them. As always, thanks for allowing us to come and enjoy out time off school and work. Merry Christmas," the Campbell family

Christmas is a season of not only of Rejoicing... but of Reflection  As we come to the close of another year, we pause to reflect on what a blessing our business is not only to our guests but to our family.
Without our wonderful guests we couldn't do this. And so, we count each and every guest a blessed treasure, and wish each and everyone a Wonderful Christmas Season Our guests know the simple pleasure of a slower pace of life at Green Valley. Cruising slowly back to your Cottage after a day of fishing is the leisurely way to chance upon wildlife along the way. Make the occasional stop along your drive to enjoy the wildflowers beside the lane, check the woods for a deer or squirrels are they scamper from limb to limb, or maybe spot a heron fishing the creek. And look up as you pause on the way to your Cottage, you may notice that there's an owl keeping an eye on you as your journey along ... Our guests brought this visitor to our attention the other day, giving us the opportunity to get his photo.  Mr. Owl is a welcome guest at Green Valley.
I love wallpaper, and being the owner of an old house it was in every room, And then it "went out of style", So I removed Lots of wallpaper. Believe me, removing wallpaper from the walls takes a lot longer than putting it On the walls. Now, it's 2024 and wallpaper seems to be "back in style" . So, I bravely decided to tackle the latest in wallpaper applications... peel and stick...a totally new wallpapering experience for me. I decided to start with a small project and what better place to start small than one kitchen wall at little Sophronia Cottage?  I love it. So bright and cheerful. It looks perfect in Sophronia's kitchen.
And my guests really love the change too. Come see for yourself and be inspired to do some wallpapering at your home, too.  "Deep summer is when laziness finds respectability" In preparation for our guests' "respectably lazy" days by the lake, we've been bustling about at the Cottages this week. Purchasing some new furnishing and decor. I'm loving the process and I think my guests will be very happy with the new changes.
